Zipzero, a UK consumer app designed to address the cost-of-living crisis by rewarding users for sharing their receipt data, has moved its headquarters from London to Aberdeen, attracted by the vibrant startup community in the Scottish city.
The app allows users to earn cash rewards by sharing receipts from their daily purchases, which can then be utilized to cover household utility bills. With over 200,000 users, Zipzero is leveraging the current economic challenges.
The relocation to Aberdeen’s One Tech Hub, part of the Techscaler initiative for northeast Scotland, reflects the company’s recognition of the robust support for tech firms in the region. Since 2021, there has been a notable 27% increase in the number of fintech companies operating in Scotland.
Mohsin Rashid, CEO of Zipzero, remarked, “Scotland is the most fertile land for UK tech. There are numerous programs fostering growth in the tech sector, and the collaboration between industry innovators and academia is particularly strong.”
