Worldline Collaborates with Google on Cloud Initiative

French payments processor Worldline has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance its digital transformation initiatives.

Worldline has been progressing on its ‘Move to Cloud’ journey since 2022 and will now leverage Google Cloud’s infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen its strategic positioning. Additionally, the partnership will allow Worldline to utilize Google Cloud’s data analytics and AI capabilities to better harness its data and develop new payment products and services.

As part of the collaboration, Worldline will become a Google payment provider in Europe, offering payment solutions to the tech giant’s customers.

“Our deep market infrastructure understanding, combined with Google Cloud’s technology expertise and scale, will accelerate our time-to-market and drive tangible success for our customers and markets,” said Gilles Grapinet, CEO of Worldline.

This partnership comes during a challenging year for Worldline, which reported a net loss in February due to a €1.15 billion impairment charge in merchant services and a declining outlook. The company has also initiated a cost-cutting program that includes eliminating 1,400 jobs.
