Meta has introduced a QR code-based payments option for the WhatsApp Business App.
Unveiled at the company’s business summit in India, this feature allows small businesses to share QR codes with ease, enabling customers to make payments directly within WhatsApp using their preferred payment method.
WhatsApp payments are already well-established in India. Earlier this year, the app received approval to roll out its P2P payments service to all of the country’s hundreds of millions of users.
The business app includes various features tailored to assist SMEs in engaging with customers and increasing sales. At the Mumbai summit, alongside the new payments feature, Meta also introduced enhanced customer support and advertising tools.
