TSB Introduces Complimentary Access to Personal Safety App Hollie Guard Extra

UK-based TSB Bank is taking a significant step to support individuals facing domestic abuse by providing complimentary access to the personal safety app, Hollie Guard Extra, for a year.

Hollie Guard Extra is a premium version of the free Hollie Guard app, available at £7.99 per month. It effectively turns a standard smartphone into a dedicated personal safety device. Users can alert designated emergency contacts—including law enforcement—via a simple tap or shake of their device. The app features real-time location sharing every five seconds and allows for audio and video recording, enhancing safety in potentially perilous situations.

TSB customers can easily download the app by entering a unique activation code to gain free access. For those interested in this initiative, discussions can take place in branches, over the phone, or through video banking.

With nearly 500,000 downloads across the UK, Hollie Guard Extra is recognized and utilized by multiple police forces, contributing to numerous arrests.

This offering complements TSB’s ongoing support for those experiencing domestic abuse, including its Emergency Flee Fund, which offers up to £500 to assist customers in escaping abusive situations, as well as safe spaces both in-branch and online.

Jess Phillips MP, Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, commended TSB’s initiative, stating, “This demonstrates how businesses can take proactive measures to prioritize customer safety and contribute to societal efforts in combating violence and abuse.”
