TSB and FinTech Scotland have opened applications for startups to participate in their annual Innovation Labs program, which offers the chance for a comprehensive commercial rollout across TSB’s customer base.
Under this initiative, selected fintech companies will collaborate with TSB to provide innovative services and money-saving products to customers as the bank enhances its fintech partnership program. The program will run until the end of the year, allowing between 10 to 20 successful applicants to refine their proposals with the assistance of TSB’s business leaders and experts from the bank’s Edinburgh Tech hub. This facility is home to technical specialists, data engineers, analysts, and IT professionals focused on developing innovative services for customers across the UK.
Applicants will be required to create a proof-of-concept for a staff pilot, which will later be tested with a limited number of customers prior to a full-scale rollout if the pilot proves successful.
Past winners, such as ApTap, Snugg Energy, and Lightning Reach, are currently delivering money-saving opportunities for TSB customers through utility switching, energy efficiency solutions, and financial hardship services, respectively.
Aruna Bhalla, head of partnerships & open banking at TSB, stated, “Scotland is home to more than 200 fintechs, and with access to world-class talent from Scottish universities, this is an excellent opportunity for TSB to strengthen its position in the fintech sector and enhance Money Confidence for our customers.”
The application deadline is Monday, September 4th. Interested parties can find application forms on the FinTech Scotland website: TSB Innovation Labs – FinTech Scotland.
