SurePay Secures Belgian Bank Mandate for Confirmation of Payee Technology

Belgium’s Centre for Exchange and Clearing has chosen SurePay to implement Confirmation of Payee technology within the domestic banking sector.

SurePay was selected through an open tender process in collaboration with the Federation of the Belgian Financial Sector, with its integration with Swift PreValidation for EU and global reach being a key factor in the decision.

Since 2016, SurePay has been at the forefront of Verification of Payee, performing over 1.5 billion checks each year, both domestically and internationally. The company, which spun off from Rabobank in 2022, now provides Verification of Payee services to more than 100 banks in the UK and the Netherlands.

“We are honoured to have been chosen by Belgian banks to implement Verification of Payee services,” said David-Jan Janse, CEO of SurePay. “Our existing multinational clients can now enhance their Verification of Payee capabilities, while Belgian banks will gain immediate access to a network of 100 banks, allowing them to take advantage of valuable additional services.”
