Starling Boosts Its Environmental Credentials

Starling Bank is enhancing its commitment to sustainability with a new marketing initiative featuring 100 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations branded with its logo.

The innovative UK challenger bank is collaborating with InstaVolt, a provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, to create a comprehensive advertising channel across its network. This initiative will not only showcase Starling’s brand on InstaVolt’s extensive charging points but also integrate promotional content within their digital app, targeting the growing segment of EV drivers.

Additionally, for each transaction made through the InstaVolt app using a Starling personal or business card—whether through prepayment or credit—Starling will plant a tree in partnership with Trillion Trees, reinforcing its sustainability efforts.

Anne Boden, founder and CEO of Starling Bank, stated, “We recognize that many of our customers are passionate about environmental issues. Partnering with InstaVolt aligns perfectly with our values and commitment to sustainability.”

As part of its broader environmental strategy, Starling Bank is currently conducting a carbon emissions audit to reduce its overall carbon footprint. Notably, in March 2021, it became the first bank in the UK to issue debit cards made from recycled plastic, providing customers with an environmentally friendly payment option.
