Shawbrook Reduces Mortgage Product Development Time by 88%

Shawbrook Bank has significantly enhanced its operations by leveraging technological advancements and DevOps training from AND Digital, successfully reducing the time required to switch mortgage products from 107 days to just 13.

Previously, the UK-based specialist lender encountered hurdles due to outdated legacy systems, inefficient software delivery processes, and traditional waterfall methodologies. To tackle these challenges, AND Digital implemented a strategic plan aimed at fostering an agile delivery culture, modernizing technological infrastructures, and equipping Shawbrook’s teams with contemporary development skills.

A comprehensive mortgage switching journey was developed utilizing Microsoft Azure and React, allowing for a streamlined process that integrates automated valuations, credit assessments, and financial decision-making.

Through this collaboration, AND Digital enhanced Shawbrook’s internal capabilities, leading to lower ongoing development costs and quicker delivery times by improving the management and utilization of customer data.

Russ Thornton, Shawbrook’s Chief Technology Officer, remarked, “By partnering with us instead of merely working for us, AND Digital has not only provided the essential product but has also equipped our team with skills that will fundamentally transform our approach to digital development moving forward.”

This partnership has yielded significant results, strengthening Shawbrook’s in-house development capabilities through focused training and coaching. As a result, Shawbrook has reduced its dependency on external resources and lowered ongoing development expenditures.
