Santander’s buy now, pay later platform, Zinia, has been chosen by Apple in Germany to offer BNPL installment plans for consumer purchases, both online and in-store.
Zinia will provide customers the option to split the total cost of Apple products into installments of 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, or 36 months, or allow a 30-day payment deferral after shipment for online orders or in-store pickups.
As part of the rollout, Apple customers financing their iPhone purchases through Zinia will have the opportunity to do so with 12 or 24 interest-free installments in the coming months.
To complete a transaction, customers simply need to enter their phone number and date of birth, confirm receipt of a security code, and undergo a quick validation process by logging into their online banking account through the Apple Store online.
Zinia has been available to consumers in Germany since 2022, and Santander aims to build on its growth in the German market with plans to expand the offering to other European countries in the near future.
