Santander Cards Go Eco-Friendly in Spain

Santander has initiated the launch of its eco-friendly payment cards crafted from recycled materials in Spain.

The bank previously unveiled the ‘One Card’ design in Poland and Portugal, with a goal to transition all debit and credit cards to sustainable materials across Spain, Portugal, and the UK by 2025. This shift is projected to reduce energy consumption compared to traditional plastic cards, preventing over 1,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, aligning with Santander’s broader commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

In conjunction with the new cards, Santander is also introducing a brand refresh that features an eco-friendly logo, a distinctive design for each customer segment to facilitate easy identification, and an accessibility notch at the bottom to assist visually impaired users.
