In an era where outdated systems persist far longer than they should, Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) is taking an innovative approach that emphasizes precision, agility, and strategic focus.
The UK-based asset management firm has partnered with Aiviq, a cloud-native SaaS provider renowned for its investment management data solutions, to implement the TermsCloud Agreement Management Module. This initiative represents a pivotal advancement in RLAM’s digital transformation journey, which began in 2021 with the adoption of Aiviq’s AUM and flow data solution.
Historically, asset managers have faced challenges in accurately assessing client value. Revenue data is often fragmented, hidden within spreadsheets, or skewed by legacy systems that fail to address complex modern fee structures, such as trailer fees, rebates, preferential terms, and customized agreements.
By integrating seamlessly with RLAM’s existing Aiviq infrastructure, the new module provides real-time, high-precision key performance indicators (KPIs) related to client net revenue. This enhances the ability to gauge profitability at a granular level, empowering more informed decision-making across sales, marketing, client servicing, and finance operations.
The technology underpinning this transformation utilizes Snowflake’s cloud data platform, which offers scalability, speed, and security—essential elements for asset managers navigating today’s unpredictable market conditions and regulatory frameworks.
For RLAM, the enhanced financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools will enable more accurate forecasting, allow marketing teams to tailor campaigns with precision, and empower client service teams to better segment and tier clients. Additionally, leadership will benefit from a consolidated view of revenue performance that supports strategic long-term planning.
For Aiviq, this collaboration serves as a testament to its commitment to resolving one of the most intricate data challenges within asset management.
Ed Venner, Chief Client Officer at RLAM, remarked, “After successfully completing a three-year transformation program with Aiviq, we are thrilled to expand our utilization to include the TermsCloud module. From now on, business users and data consumers throughout the organization will have access to high-precision client revenue KPIs on a near real-time basis.”
Greg Glass, Executive Director at Aiviq, noted, “TermsCloud enables managers to better handle one of the most challenging and undervalued datasets in the enterprise. This is not solely about compliance or reporting; it’s about unlocking the value from data that has been overlooked.”
