Ripple Co-Founder’s XRP Accounts Compromised in Hack

Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen has revealed that several of his personal XRP accounts have been hacked but has refuted claims that the company’s network itself was compromised.

On Wednesday, the popular Twitter account @ZachXBT reported that Ripple had been hacked, resulting in the theft of approximately 213 million XRP, valued at $112.5 million. In response, Larsen addressed the situation on Twitter, stating, “Yesterday, there was unauthorized access to a few of my personal XRP accounts (not @Ripple). We were quickly able to catch the problem and notify exchanges to freeze the affected addresses. Law enforcement is already involved.”

Larsen further emphasized that Ripple’s wallets are secure and have never been compromised.
