Revolut Enters Global Visa Direct Partnership to Facilitate Cross-Border Business Transactions

Revolut has partnered with Visa to provide business customers with instant card transfers for cross-border payments.

International business transfers have often involved various requirements that can vary by country, including high transfer fees, delays of several days, and the need for specific information such as IBAN and BIC. However, with Visa Direct, Revolut Business customers now only need a card number for transactions, allowing payments to reach the recipient’s account in 30 minutes or less. Visa Direct operates in 78 countries and supports over 50 currencies.

This global agreement builds on Revolut and Visa’s previous collaboration to facilitate card transfers powered by Visa Direct for peer-to-peer payments to nearly 90 countries in 2023, as well as the introduction of Visa virtual cards aimed at the B2B travel sector in 2024.

James Gibson, general manager at Revolut Business, expressed enthusiasm about the launch of Instant Card Transfers in the UK and EEA, stating: “We’re excited to launch Instant Card Transfers in the UK & EEA, providing businesses with a simple, instant, and secure way to pay employees, contractors, and customers globally by supporting major card schemes.”
