Digital banking leader Revolut has welcomed Frederic Oudea, the former CEO of Societe Generale, as the new chairman of its operations in Western Europe.
This appointment aligns with Revolut’s strategic initiative to expand its footprint in Western Europe. The company has committed €1.17 billion to establish a strong presence in France and is actively pursuing a French banking license. In addition to its existing headquarters in Lithuania, Revolut is also setting up its Western European headquarters in Paris.
Frederic Oudea, who led Societe Generale for 15 years before his departure in 2023, expressed his enthusiasm about joining Revolut. He remarked, “I firmly believe that Revolut is leading the charge in European retail banking, and I am excited to be part of the team at such a pivotal moment in our evolution toward becoming a fully licensed banking institution.”
On the same day, Revolut announced a substantial agreement with Google Cloud, marking another significant milestone in its growth trajectory.
