Portrait Analytics, a startup focused on developing a generative AI research platform for investment analysts, has successfully secured $3 million in pre-seed funding, led by .406 Ventures.
The company aims to simplify the research process for analysts by reducing the amount of reading required to gather information about companies, thereby speeding up the time it takes for investors to gain insights and expertise on various firms.
Portrait’s initial offering is a Q&A-based application designed for public market analysts, leveraging generative AI to enhance search and summarization capabilities. This technology extracts and synthesizes essential information from company filings to deliver precise, auditable responses to users’ inquiries.
In the future, Portrait aspires to automate a wide range of tasks typically handled by junior investment analysts, including generating ideas, constructing financial models, and drafting memos and pitch decks.
Currently in a private beta phase, the platform plans to provide access to analysts on a waiting list in the coming months.
David Plon, CEO of Portrait Analytics, stated, “At Portrait, we’re building the personal research assistant I always wished I had, one that would massively expand my bandwidth for finding and consuming information critical to the investment research process.”
