NatWest has unveiled a new board game, ‘All Mod Cons,’ just in time for Christmas, aimed at educating the public about modern scams.
The game, developed by a team of game developers in collaboration with the bank’s fraud team, will be available for play in select NatWest branches. ‘All Mod Cons’ accommodates 4-6 players who navigate the board while trying to protect their money from various scams. It leverages NatWest’s data to provide players with essential insights on how to detect, avoid, and report different types of scams in real life.
Research conducted by NatWest highlighted the most common scams included in the game, such as phishing, vishing, smishing, impersonation scams, and refund scams. Additionally, other notable scams from the past year featured in the game include romance scams, crypto refund frauds, get-rich-quick schemes, and purchase scams.
