NatWest is launching an innovative eight-week pilot program for an app designed to calculate customer carbon emissions based on their spending activities. The UK bank is inviting customers to participate in this trial, which leverages technology developed by the fintech company CoGo.
The app will enable users to track their carbon footprint in real-time, offering insights tailored to individual spending habits. Additionally, CoGo will provide actionable recommendations to help users reduce their environmental impact, such as transitioning to renewable energy sources or opting for second-hand clothing.
Earlier this year, NatWest introduced a carbon calculator aimed at helping employees comprehend the environmental implications of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside strategies for minimizing their carbon footprints.
