NatWest Introduces Home Energy Hub

NatWest has introduced a new hub aimed at assisting UK homeowners in enhancing the energy efficiency of their properties.

With energy costs on the rise and growing concerns about climate change, a recent survey from NatWest reveals that 66% of homeowners in the UK intend to implement sustainability upgrades in their homes over the next decade.

The newly launched Home Energy Hub serves as a valuable resource for homeowners, enabling them to pinpoint specific enhancements to improve their property’s energy efficiency. It provides insights into the potential costs associated with various retrofit options and connects users with local professionals and service providers equipped to carry out the necessary work.

In an effort to extend its services, the bank is also collaborating with Airbnb to offer this hub to the holiday rental sector.

To further aid homeowners, an affordability calculator has been integrated into the hub, allowing individuals to assess their borrowing capacity through a selection of the bank’s financial options.

Lloyd Cochrane, head of mortgages at NatWest, stated, “Our research indicates that homeowners encounter obstacles when attempting to implement energy efficiency improvements. This Hub represents a significant step towards addressing that challenge, streamlining the process for homeowners to understand, commission, and finance the necessary work.”
