Nationwide has inaugurated a new digital hub in Swindon, which will provide employment for 700 technology professionals. This significant development represents a multi-million-pound investment aimed at enhancing the delivery of innovative digital services in the region.
The opening of Ramsbury House follows Nationwide’s commitment in September 2018 to invest an additional £1.3 billion in technology over the next five years, bringing the total investment to £4.1 billion during this period.
Promoted as the most sustainable structure the building society has ever constructed, the site includes amenities such as an onsite gym, a spacious bicycle parking area, and a flexible ‘town hall’ venue for employee meetings and community or business use.
Additionally, Nationwide is progressing with the construction of a new digital innovation centre in London, which will generate over 750 technology jobs. Scheduled to open later this year, this facility will serve as a Digital and Technology Innovation Centre, catering to professionals in digital, data, engineering, architecture, development operations, and design. It will also host the team focused on developing Nationwide’s offerings in the business banking sector, following the recent acquisition of funding to enter this market.
