MSCI has announced an extension of its partnership with Google Cloud, aiming to enhance the development of generative AI services catered to the investment sector.
The collaboration will combine MSCI’s proprietary analytics and data with Google Cloud’s AI platform, Vertex, alongside various climate-related technologies to innovate new product offerings. The focus of this initiative will be on three key areas: risk signals, conversational AI, and climate-focused generative AI, leveraging two critical trends in asset management—AI and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing.
Henry Fernandez, MSCI’s Chairman and CEO, remarked, “The AI revolution has heightened expectations among companies and investors for quicker access to superior data, analytics, and actionable insights. Strengthening our alliance with Google Cloud will enable MSCI to meet these demands while maintaining our leadership in cutting-edge data technologies. Additionally, it will facilitate the introduction of solutions for investors aiming to decarbonize their portfolios.”
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, added, “Generative AI is spearheading the next phase of financial services, as investment professionals seek effective and efficient methods for monitoring portfolios, generating insights, and accelerating decision-making. Our partnership with MSCI to develop generative AI-powered solutions will enhance collaboration within risk and portfolio management teams and empower MSCI’s clients to cultivate more climate-resilient portfolios.”
