Moroccan Authorities Arrest Suspected Hacker Known as Dr. Hex

Moroccan police have apprehended a suspected cybercriminal known as ‘Dr Hex,’ who is linked to a series of phishing, carding, and malware operations.

Authorities collaborated with Interpol and the security firm Group-IB to locate the suspect, believed to have targeted thousands of victims over several years through global phishing and credit card fraud activities.

Dr Hex is also accused of defacing numerous websites by altering their appearance and content, as well as launching malware attacks against various banks and other organizations. Furthermore, he is alleged to have developed carding and phishing kits that were sold to other criminals via online forums.

Stephen Kavanagh, Interpol’s executive director of police services, stated, “This is a significant success against a suspect who has been targeting unsuspecting individuals and companies across multiple regions for years, highlighting the global threat of cybercrime.”
