Meta Secures £10 Billion Cloud Partnership with Google

Meta has entered into a significant partnership with Google Cloud, committing to a deal valued at a minimum of $10 billion. This strategic agreement aims to bolster Meta’s artificial intelligence capabilities as part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s initiative to enhance AI infrastructure.

Over the course of six years, Meta will utilize Google Cloud’s services to power various AI tools, marking the first substantial collaboration between these two major technology companies. This partnership positions Google Cloud as a prominent contender in the cloud computing landscape, following Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, as reported by The Information.

Google has officially acknowledged the agreement, while Meta has not provided further commentary. Notably, Google Cloud previously collaborated with Meta on the AI model Llama, which was launched in 2023.
