Malaysia’s leading financial institution, Maybank, has finalized an agreement with Microsoft to drive its digital transformation initiatives.
This partnership, valued at approximately RM1 billion ($226 million) over the next five years, will impact Maybank branches across the region and leverage artificial intelligence and cloud technologies to modernize the bank’s IT infrastructure.
As part of this transformation, Maybank plans to transition to Microsoft 365 and utilize Microsoft Azure’s cloud platform to enhance its most critical systems and workloads. This strategic shift is expected to help Maybank accelerate its innovation processes while improving resilience and cost efficiency.
“This partnership with Microsoft marks a significant step in our digital transformation beyond the M25+ strategy,” stated Dato’ Sri Khairussaleh Ramli, Maybank’s President and Group CEO. “It’s not just about adopting new technology; it’s about envisioning how we can better meet our customers’ needs and create lasting value.”
