Mastercard has introduced an innovative generative AI retail assistant designed to provide shoppers with personalized product recommendations.

The new tool, named Shopping Muse, was crafted by Dynamic Yield—a company that Mastercard acquired from McDonald’s two years ago. This advanced assistant aims to replicate the in-store shopping experience by interpreting customers’ everyday language, allowing for customized product suggestions, including complementary accessories and items.

Customers can explore popular fashion trends, adhere to specific dress codes, and even search for unconventional terms like “cottagecore” or “beach formal.” The recommendations from Shopping Muse are tailored to each user’s individual preferences, intent, and interests, while also evolving based on the context of previous interactions.
