Mastercard and Ant Join Forces to Inspire a Billion People to Go Green

Mastercard, Ant Group, and BBVA are key players in a new global initiative launched by the Green Digital Finance Alliance aimed at fostering environmentally conscious consumer behavior.

The coalition, named Every Action Counts, aims to cultivate one billion “digital green champions” by the year 2025. This partnership brings together companies from digital, financial, and e-commerce sectors alongside sustainability experts to exchange best practices on promoting eco-friendly actions in everyday life.

For instance, Mastercard is leveraging its extensive network to launch a reforestation project, while Ant is encouraging users to opt for low-carbon alternatives, such as taking public transport instead of driving.

Founding members also include notable organizations like BigPay from Malaysia, GCash from the Philippines, and Paytm from India.

Kristina Kloberdanz, Mastercard’s Chief Sustainability Officer, emphasized that the coalition underscores their commitment to fostering an inclusive and sustainable digital economy, empowering individuals and the planet to thrive through innovations that raise awareness of the environmental impacts of personal choices.
