Lunar Introduces GenAI Native Voice Assistant

In a groundbreaking development for the European banking landscape, Nordic challenger bank Lunar has introduced an innovative virtual assistant that leverages GenAI Native Voice technology.

Utilizing the advanced capabilities of the GPT-4o model, this GenAI Native Voice Assistant is designed to provide immediate, personalized support around the clock, eliminating wait times for customers. The assistant is adept at handling a wide range of inquiries, from simple requests to more complex issues.

What sets this system apart from conventional voice support solutions is its use of a voice-native AI model, moving away from the traditional voice-to-text-to-voice method. This advancement enables a more sophisticated conversational experience, allowing the assistant to manage interruptions, repeat information, and engage in more natural dialogues. As a result, users can enjoy a smoother and more intuitive interaction.

Kåre Kjelstrom, Chief Technology Officer at Lunar, highlighted the significant impact of the GenAI Native Voice Assistant on customer experience. He noted, “Our assistant alleviates common frustrations such as long wait times, making banking more accessible, particularly for individuals who may face challenges with digital literacy.”

Currently in its beta phase, Lunar anticipates that this new virtual assistant will eventually handle approximately 75% of all customer calls.
