Lloyds Private Equity Division Invests in Etrading Software

Lloyds Banking Group’s private equity arm, LDC, has made a substantial investment in Etrading Software, a capital markets technology provider.

Based in London, Etrading Software specializes in delivering market and reference data to international financial institutions. The company serves as the primary service and technology provider to the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), which is the global numbering agency for OTC derivatives.

Recently, Etrading Software’s role with the DSB has expanded to include a new mandate to operate the service that generates Unique Product Identifiers. These identifiers will enable regulators in G20 countries to aggregate and track OTC derivative transaction data.

The investment will aid Etrading Software in growing its range of services and expanding its international presence. Joseph Fison, investment director at LDC, noted, “Etrading Software’s market-leading proposition has made it an integral part of the capital markets ecosystem. Its expertise in operating critical market infrastructures provides a strong platform to support public authorities and market participants in implementing future regulatory mandates, such as a consolidated tape for market data.”
