Lloyds Bank is set to simplify household bill management for mortgage customers through a partnership with ApTap, a fintech startup that emerged from the bank’s ‘Launch’ innovation program.
ApTap’s bill management tool will now be integrated into Home Wise (Lloyds Bank) and HelloHome (Halifax), existing home hubs accessible via the banks’ mobile banking services. This app empowers customers to discover potential savings by switching their broadband provider, energy supplier, or mobile phone contract, with a streamlined process to facilitate these switches.
Carolyne Gregory, head of product management for Homes at Lloyds Banking Group, stated: “Keeping track of household bills can yield savings of hundreds of pounds each year, yet it often feels overwhelming to sift through paperwork and contact multiple suppliers. Our partnership with ApTap simplifies this process, allowing Lloyds Bank and Halifax mortgage customers to manage their bills more effectively through their home hub within the mobile banking app.”
Last year, ApTap participated in the Lloyds Banking Group Launch program, a five-month initiative designed to foster innovation by enabling fintech startups to collaborate with the bank. This program allows fintechs to address key strategic challenges while working alongside business experts to refine their solutions and test them through a Proof of Concept.
Will Billingsley, co-founder and CEO of ApTap, remarked: “During the Launch program, we experienced the bank’s commitment to innovative customer service. Collaborating with various teams across the group has been invaluable in integrating our tools into the app, and we are eager to introduce them into the home ecosystem, enhancing the relevance of our bill management solutions.”
