Lloyds Banking Group has announced a partnership with Broadcom to implement VMware Cloud Foundation as part of its data center consolidation strategy. This collaboration builds on an existing relationship with Broadcom and aims to create a robust infrastructure for the bank’s digital banking operations.
The integration of VMware will enable Lloyds to maintain a consistent operating environment within its private cloud, balancing the flexibility associated with public cloud solutions and the security, performance, and cost-effectiveness of on-premises infrastructure.
This platform will seamlessly support a range of applications, including traditional, modern, and AI-driven systems, while ensuring unified operations, governance, and controls. Additionally, Broadcom will provide professional services and training to Lloyds’ engineering teams, further enhancing their capabilities.
Broadcom’s mainframe technology will continue to be essential in supporting Lloyds’ critical workloads.
Ron van Kemenade, Group Chief Operating Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, stated, “Enhancing our infrastructure enables us to deliver quick and reliable digital banking services for our customers, whether they are making payments, applying for loans, or checking their balances. This upgrade ensures our customers receive premier service today and provides a scalable platform for future innovations.”
