Lloyds Enhances Collaboration with MyPocketSkill to Promote Financial Literacy

Lloyds Bank is expanding its partnership with financial education platform MyPocketSkill to promote positive money habits among 13-25 year-olds.

The collaboration began in January 2025, making MyPocketSkill available to students at UCL, UWL, Cardiff University, and Swansea University.

In the initial phase, over 2,000 students joined the platform to explore paid work opportunities. Those Lloyds student customers who engaged with MyPocketSkill reported having three times more money in their accounts compared to before enrolling, and were 40% more likely to open a savings account.

Matthew Harker, co-founder and co-CEO of MyPocketSkill, noted, “As students face increasing financial pressures, the data from our initial collaboration with Lloyds clearly indicates that practical money experiences foster positive financial habits.”

The next phase of this partnership will broaden access to more student account holders, introducing a refer-a-friend feature and offering exclusive opportunities specifically for Lloyds student account holders.

Zara Ransley, co-CEO and co-founder of MyPocketSkill, emphasized that the partnership aims to reach more of the 13 million Gen Z individuals seeking both earning opportunities and practical financial education.
