Lloyds Banking Group is advancing its artificial intelligence strategy with the appointment of Aritra Chakravarty from Jiffy.ai as the new head of agentic AI.
Chakravarty’s onboarding comes on the heels of recent key hires, including Magdalena Lis as the head of responsible AI and Dr. Rohit Dhawan, a former AWS executive, who now serves as director of AI and advanced analytics.
Recently, Chakravarty has focused on generative AI and large language model-driven automation at JIFI.ai, transforming advisory, compliance, and operational frameworks for financial institutions. He previously founded Project Imagine, an FCA-regulated fintech, and held prominent digital product leadership roles within HSBC, overseeing areas such as foreign exchange, structured products, robo-advisory, and brokerage services.
In his new position, Chakravarty will spearhead the development of agentic AI capabilities at Lloyds Banking Group, focusing on creating autonomous, goal-driven systems aimed at enhancing decision-making, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
Chakravarty will report to Rohit Dhawan, who remarked, “Aritra brings an exceptional combination of entrepreneurial insight, technical expertise, and financial knowledge. His appointment highlights our dedication to creating AI systems that not only foster innovation but also improve the everyday experiences of our customers and clients. His unique ability to connect advanced technology with practical, customer-focused solutions will be vital in shaping the future of AI at Lloyds Banking Group.”
