LexisNexis Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Personal Information

LexisNexis Risk Solutions has reported that a data breach at a third-party provider has compromised the personal information of over 364,000 individuals.

The breach, which involved a platform used by LexisNexis for software development, occurred in late 2024, according to a filing with Maine’s attorney general.

In communications to affected individuals, the company revealed that an unauthorized party may have accessed names, contact details (including phone numbers, postal addresses, and email addresses), Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and dates of birth.

However, no financial or credit card information was compromised, and there is currently no indication that the data has been misused.

LexisNexis has engaged external cybersecurity experts and informed law enforcement. To support those impacted, the company is offering two years of free identity protection and credit monitoring services.
