Kuwait International Bank has become the first lender to launch a biometric payments card, utilizing technology from the Norwegian company Zwipe. The card, which features a fingerprint reader for user verification, will be offered to VIP clients as part of the Visa Infinite Black product.
Deema Al Mulaifi, assistant GM of operations at KIB, emphasized that the card is designed to provide convenience and ease of access while ensuring a high level of security against fraud attempts.
Founded in 2009 and based in Oslo, Zwipe has previously piloted similar technology with banks such as Fidor Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Op Financial, among others.
