Klarna has established a global partnership with Uber, enabling users to choose between immediate or deferred payments for rides and food delivery services.
Currently available in the US, Germany, and Sweden, Klarna’s Pay Now feature allows customers to make full, instant payments for their next ride or delivery with a single click. Users in Sweden and Germany can also bundle all their purchases into a monthly payment cycle that aligns with their payday.
Karl Hebert, Vice President of Payments, Risk, and Identity at Uber, stated, “We are committed to enhancing and localizing our payments experience, and our partnership with Klarna helps us achieve this while also lowering our acceptance costs.”
In 2023, Uber facilitated nearly 9.5 billion trips, averaging about 28 million trips per day in Q4 alone—equal to over 1 million trips per hour.
