John Wise Named Chairman of ESG Book

John Wise, a prominent figure in the fintech industry, has been appointed as the chair of ESG Book, a startup dedicated to sustainability and data technology.

With an impressive track record, Wise has established himself as a key player in financial technology. His previous venture, InvestCloud, expanded rapidly, amassing over 550 direct clients and managing more than $6 trillion in assets on its platform within a decade.

His entrepreneurial journey includes founding companies such as Synergo Technology, TCA Syntec, and Netik, the latter of which was acquired by Bank of New York Mellon in 2002.

Wise takes on his role at ESG Book following the company’s successful $35 million funding round for its sustainability disclosure platform in June. Built on Google Cloud infrastructure, ESG Book’s platform is utilized by more than 10,000 users worldwide, allowing organizations to disclose their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data directly to stakeholders in a secure and centralized manner.

Currently, ESG Book serves over 100 institutional clients across the globe, including notable names like Bloomberg, BNY Mellon, Citi, Dow Jones, Glass Lewis, JP Morgan, and HSBC.

Commenting on his new role, Wise stated, “The ESG data industry is expanding rapidly. However, many providers are falling short in delivering the solutions necessary to guide capital towards more sustainable and impactful assets.” He further expressed admiration for ESG Book’s proactive approach to investing in technology and resources needed to efficiently source and process data at scale. “By offering comprehensive ESG data, analytics, and a full SaaS solution through a single platform, ESG Book is exceptionally positioned to meet the diverse needs of both the buy and sell side, exchanges, platforms, and corporations focusing on climate and sustainability scoring.”
