Infinity Ventures, an early-stage fintech and commerce venture firm founded by former PayPal executives, has successfully raised $184 million for its Fund II.
Co-founded in 2021 by Jeremy Jonker, Jay Ganatra, and Mario Ruiz, Infinity Ventures has a notable investment history that includes backing companies like Plaid, Paxos, PPRO, Acorns, and Tink, as well as overseeing the acquisitions of Venmo, Braintree, Honey, Hyperwallet, Xoom, Swift Financial, and iZettle.
Infinity focuses on pre-seed to Series A investments and has supported 23 companies in the fintech and commerce sectors. Its portfolio features innovative firms such as Rainforest, a PayFac-as-a-service platform; Mendel, specializing in corporate card and expense management; and Pagos, a payments data provider.
With the launch of Fund II, Infinity Ventures aims to enhance its “operators-first, investors-second” model, providing robust support to founders in the B2B fintech and commerce enablement space.
Mario Ruiz states, “As ex-operators ourselves, we can’t help but serve as an extension of our portfolio companies’ teams.” He emphasizes that the Infinity Ventures team actively engages in execution work, facilitates customer negotiations, and makes vital C-level introductions, distinguishing them from generalist and other sector-focused funds through their deep domain expertise and industry connections.
