Climate-tech startup Greenspark has secured £1 million in seed funding, with Fuel Ventures leading the round.
Participants in this funding round include Pitchdrive, 1818 Venture Capital, Zone2Boost, Great Stuff Ventures, QC-Ventures, and Boost Fund.
Greenspark offers what it calls Impact-as-a-Service, enabling online businesses to address global environmental and social issues. Their “planet-positive” online tools integrate smoothly with existing technology stacks.
Through partnerships with e-commerce and payment providers as well as marketing suites, businesses can engage in climate action initiatives, including tree planting, preventing ocean-bound plastic waste, and offsetting carbon emissions on behalf of their customers.
To date, Greenspark has helped plant over 800,000 trees and prevented more than 1.3 million plastic bottles from reaching the ocean, collaborating with over 300 companies. The startup is poised for growth with the upcoming launch of a Climate API, new impact types, and omnichannel integrations.
“We’re introducing a fresh approach to solving global issues through tools that not only aim for altruism but also make sound business sense,” said Lenny Leemann, CEO. “By demonstrating the economic value of sustainability, we believe we can create meaningful change in the world.”
