Google Teams Up with Wise to Enhance Accessibility of Remittances

Google is collaborating with Wise, Ria Money Transfer, and Xe to test a remittance feature through its online wallet and search function.

The new feature, being trialed with Google users in the US, will enable those searching for international payment options on popular routes—such as USD to INR, PHP, MXN, and BRL—to compare and send money through these providers.

Lauren Langbridge, Commercial Director of Wise Platform, states, “Sending money abroad is a routine necessity for millions of people and businesses, but customers often struggle to find the right provider. By partnering with Google, Wise aims to facilitate fast and reliable international payments for more users across the US, empowering them to make the best choice based on their needs.”

Juan Bianchi, CEO of the money transfer segment at Ria and parent company Euronet, expresses enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “We are excited to work with Google to make Ria and Xe’s money transfer services accessible to millions who haven’t used them before.”

In a separate update, Google is increasing the number of credit cards for which US buyers can see reward details in autofill on Chrome to over 100. Additionally, US shoppers will soon have the option to use buy now, pay later services like Affirm and Zip through the autofill feature, with more options like Klarna and Afterpay coming soon.
