Funding Options has introduced a green finance marketplace aimed at assisting UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in securing funds to meet their sustainability objectives.
With UK SMEs accounting for around 25% of the country’s CO2 emissions, this new marketplace is designed to enhance transparency and increase awareness of funding opportunities available to businesses striving to minimize their carbon footprints.
The platform features a Green Lender panel that includes institutions like Swishfund and Cambridge & Counties Bank, which aid companies in identifying suitable financing options to help them achieve their eco-friendly goals. Businesses can secure funding for “green assets,” such as solar panels or electric vehicles. Lenders will also be paired with environmentally-conscious firms engaged in renewable and sustainable practices.
Simon Cureton, CEO of Funding Options, emphasized the importance of technology, stating, “Data analytics and open banking APIs ensure that green borrowers are matched with the right lenders, encouraging SMEs to prioritize their environmental impact.”
