France’s Green-Got Unveils Eco-Friendly Banking App

European sustainable neobank Green-Got has partnered with climate engagement provider ecolytiq to introduce a new green banking app.

Green-Got, based in France, has started onboarding the 25,000 individuals from its waitlist, aiming to ensure that their finances no longer support fossil fuel industries. The startup has integrated ecolytiq’s technology, which enables customers to view the environmental impact of their purchases in real time, employing methodologies from the Organisation for Sustainable Consumption.

Users will also gain insights that help contextualize their environmental footprint, offering practical tips and strategies to promote sustainable behavior. Additionally, with each card transaction made through a Green-Got account, a commission from the seller will contribute to environmental initiatives such as forest conservation, ocean cleanup, and clean energy development.

The neobank emphasizes sustainable investment of customers’ savings, with the app featuring a carbon emissions calculator for further environmental awareness.

Andrea Ganovelli, co-founder of Green-Got, stated, “Green-Got was founded on the principle that investments should support projects that protect, rather than harm, our environment. Our goal is to empower individuals to use their finances to combat climate change and its existing effects.”
