Former Chancellor’s Crypto Company Hosted Sushi Served by Half-Naked Models

Guests at a party hosted by a cryptocurrency firm, led by former UK chancellor Philip Hammond, were served sushi presented on the bodies of half-naked models.

In a photo shared by the Financial Times, attendees were seen mingling around a male and female model clad in swimwear, lying on a table with boards of sushi placed on their stomachs. The event took place in a private dining room at the Mandrake Hotel following the Digital Asset Summit in London earlier this year.

An invitation to the after-party encouraged attendees to “Transcend the ordinary at the Copper experience,” with a promise that they could “entertain and explore all five senses.”

A spokesperson for Copper stated that the party “was organised by a third-party event planner and open to all delegates as part of the conference.” Hammond, who was appointed chairman of Copper in January 2023, did not attend the event. Following his appointment, the digital asset custody and trading startup later made job cuts due to an uncertain regulatory environment in the US.
