Fintechs Unite with UK ‘Tech Zero’ Climate Taskforce

Revolut, Starling, and Wise are among a number of UK fintech companies that have joined a newly formed ‘Tech Zero’ taskforce dedicated to combating climate change.

Led by the green energy provider Bulb, this initiative aims to expedite the UK government’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Other founding members include GoCardless, Moneysupermarket Group, and Onfido. The taskforce receives support from Tech Nation and Andrew Griffith MP, the UK’s Net Zero business champion.

The group intends to establish “ambitious yet attainable” emission reduction targets, positioning the UK as a leading hub for green investment. Furthermore, it aims to empower consumers to make more sustainable choices. Although the taskforce currently consists of 15 founding members, it aspires to recruit at least 1,000 British tech firms prior to the COP26 UN Climate Conference later this year.
