Fidelity National Financial (FNF) is currently facing a “cybersecurity incident” that has resulted in the blocking of access to its systems, causing business disruptions.
In a filing with the SEC, FNF, which offers title insurance and transaction services to the real estate and mortgage sectors, reported that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain systems and obtained credentials.
In response to the breach, the company has taken steps to contain the situation by restricting access to some of its systems, which has affected service delivery. For instance, the services related to title insurance, escrow, mortgage transactions, and technology support for the real estate and mortgage industries have been impacted.
FNF has initiated an investigation, engaged experts, and notified law enforcement authorities.
