Fed Governor Waller Involved in Zoom-Bombing Incident Featuring Adult Content

Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller had to cut short his remarks during a Zoom conference after a participant hijacked the call and displayed pornography.

The Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America (MBCA) canceled its Zoom event just minutes before it was scheduled to begin, affecting around 220 attendees, according to Reuters. The explicit images were shown by a user with the screen name “Dan,” who exploited a security lapse that left the call’s mute feature improperly configured.

Brent Tjark, executive director of MBCA, expressed regret over the incident, stating, “We were a victim of a teleconference or Zoom hijacking, and we are trying to understand what we need to do going forward to prevent this from ever happening again.”
