The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK has announced the appointments of Sacha Sadan as the new Director of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), Ian Alderton as the permanent Chief Information Officer (CIO), and Ian Phoenix as the Director of Intelligence and Digital.
Sadan, previously with Legal and General Investment Management, will focus on shaping and promoting the FCA’s strategy for sustainable finance both within the UK and internationally. This initiative aligns with the recent directive from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, urging the FCA to consider the government’s commitment to achieving a net-zero economy by 2050.
Alderton, who initially joined the FCA on a temporary basis in January, will now spearhead efforts to enhance the regulator’s data-driven strategies, overseeing the regulation of over 60,000 firms.
Phoenix will be responsible for advancing the FCA’s intelligence and surveillance capabilities, as well as driving digital initiatives aimed at combatting harmful online activities.
