The European Investment Bank (EIB) has expanded the reach of its online tool, Green Checker, aimed at identifying projects eligible for green financing. This free tool is designed to enhance banks’ green portfolios and improve access to financing for SMEs and public entities.
Originally available only within the EU, Green Checker has now been extended to various countries across North Africa, the Middle East, the Western Balkans, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe.
EIB Vice President Ambroise Fayolle stated, “[The Green Checker] helps companies assess whether their projects meet climate and environmental criteria and determine their eligibility for EIB financing through our partner banks. We are now broadening its scope to include countries beyond Europe, accelerating climate investments globally.”
