EBA Clearing Launches Pilot for Pan-European Fraud Pattern and Anomaly Detection

EBA Clearing is preparing to launch an analytical pilot aimed at detecting pan-European fraud patterns and anomalies.

The pilot, scheduled for July, precedes the rollout of comprehensive fraud prevention and detection features for all STEP2 and RT1 users in November. This new functionality is intended to assist users in bracing for the anticipated increase in account-to-account transactions and the broader adoption of instant payments.

According to EBA Clearing, this initiative enhances payment service providers’ (PSPs) individual risk assessments by incorporating insights on fraud patterns and anomalies from a centralized infrastructure perspective.

Erwin Kulk from EBA Clearing stated, “We look forward to the insights from the analytical pilot to further fine-tune the functionality ahead of the go-live. We will also continue to intensify our exchange with the user community to ensure everyone can get ready to adopt and benefit from the solution from the start.”
