B2B software investor Dawn Capital has elevated Dan Chaplin to partner and co-head of fintech and digital assets following an impressive investment track record featuring notable companies such as Tink, Cover Genius, and Access Fintech.
A Forbes 30 Under 30 for Finance in Europe honoree, Chaplin’s promotion makes him one of Europe’s youngest VC partners. In his new role, he will work alongside general partner Josh Bell, focusing on payments, credit, and infrastructure platforms.
Since joining Dawn Capital from JPMorgan in 2018, Chaplin has spearheaded some of the firm’s most significant investments, including the open banking fintech Tink, which Visa acquired for $2 billion in 2021.
With nearly £300 million deployed in capital, Chaplin’s portfolio includes a range of early-stage software companies across Europe, such as Cover Genius, Copper, Elwood, Billie, Access Fintech, and OpenGamma.
Josh Bell commended Chaplin, stating, “He has sourced some of our most exciting fintech investments, been a real thought partner to his founders, and delivered strong returns to our investors. Dan’s passion for every deal and company is infectious, and his shrewd judgment is always welcomed.”
