The ethical investment app Clim8 has successfully surpassed its crowdfunding goal, amassing £1.35 million from 1,200 investors prior to its official launch.
This impressive funding achievement exceeds expectations by 300%, reflecting a growing investor awareness around the urgent issues of climate change in a post-pandemic world.
Notable investors include board directors from prominent fintech companies, such as Marcus Exall of Monese and Marcus Mosen from N26. Additionally, venture capital firm 7percent Ventures contributed to the success, boosting Clim8’s total funding to £2 million.
Andrew J. Scott, founding partner at 7percent Ventures, stated, “Our fund focuses on startups with the potential to become billion-dollar enterprises. Clim8 has developed an innovative concept that addresses the global challenge of climate change while establishing a valuable platform.”
Set to launch this summer, the Clim8 app will offer users a curated portfolio of companies dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. Key sectors highlighted include clean energy, clean technology, sustainable food, electric mobility, and recycling.
Clim8 also reports a pre-launch waiting list of over 5,000 individuals eager to engage with the platform.
