CIBC to Recruit 200 Experts in Data and AI

Canadian bank CIBC is planning to expand its workforce by recruiting over 200 professionals specializing in data and artificial intelligence over the next year.

The institution has already integrated AI into its operations, utilizing it for risk management, fraud detection, and information security frameworks. Additionally, CIBC has launched several pilot programs incorporating Generative AI capabilities.

A key focus for these new roles will be the creation of resilient and reliable AI systems as the bank aims to scale its use of the technology. This includes establishing robust governance and operational guidelines to ensure ethical AI practices.

Christina Kramer, Group Head of Technology, Infrastructure, and Innovation at CIBC, stated, "This is the ideal moment to enhance our talent pool through both hiring and upskilling in data and AI-focused positions. We aim to harness this emerging technology to provide greater value to our clients and enhance the overall experience for our team members."
